Kayli & Sam love everything about winter—the snow, crisp air, and days spent on the slopes—and Stowe has been one of their favorite places to visit over the years. When they decided to elope, it was the obvious choice. They initially planned to have a few family members join but ultimately kept it just the two of them (plus their dog, Wayne) for a stress-free and intimate day.
They found a cozy Airbnb just outside of Stowe that offered the most beautiful location for their private celebration. After a sweet and tearful FaceTime to her family, Kayli headed out for their first look with Sam in the snowy path right outside of their AirBnb. An emotional first look was followed by their simple and intimate ceremony on the porch—just the two of them, their officiant, and a quiet winter backdrop. When it came time to read their vows, the officiant and I stepped away, giving them a private moment to share their words with each other.
Afterward, we took portraits around the property taking advantage of the glowing afternoon light. Wayne joined in, happily playing fetch with a stick in the snow while they soaked in their first moments as newlyweds. After popping a bottle of champagne, it was time to wrap up the day, so we headed 10 minutes down the road for a few final shots with Stowe’s iconic mountains in the background before parting ways. Big weddings are so much fun, and I love photographing them, but I have to say there is just something so special about choosing to say "I Do" with just your person, surrounded by nature, and making the day all about the two of you!
Thinking about eloping in Stowe? This day was proof that keeping it intimate and simple can be just as magical in any season!
